Pastor Michael has served as the Lead Pastor of Covenant Fellowship Church since 2002. He holds an Ordained Bishop’s credential with the Church of God and has served in ministry since 1996.  His heart for revival and for people to know Christ has led to his commitment to see God do amazing things at Covenant Fellowship.

Pastor Michael is a committed husband to his beautiful wife Charmian and father of two wonderful children, Taylor Booker, and Tanner Booker. Pastor’s hobbies are the outdoors (hunting/fishing) and riding motorcycles.  He enjoys football, baseball, and family vacations when time permits.



Scott Emerine, M.Sc.,  and his wife Joy have served together in ministry for 20 years. The two met while students at Oral Roberts University. Scott is an Ordained Bishop with the Church of God and has served as an associate pastor in Bristol for the past 20 years. He and Joy have worked in children’s, youth, life groups, discipleship, and worship ministry.  Scott is the Ministry of Helps Pastor.  He and Joy have three sons that are active in ministry and music as well. When Scott is not ministering he is the Co-owner of a full-service global marketing, advertising, and public relations firm and also teaches at Boston University and Oral Roberts University. Scott serves as the Vice Chairman of the Deacon Board, and spearheads communications, and helps with administration.

Scott has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Oral Roberts University and a Master of Science Degree from Boston University.  He has more than 20 years of communications, media relations, public relations, and marketing communications experience in addition to nearly 20 years of volunteer ministry work.  He enjoys fly fishing, hunting, hiking, reading, and playing music when he is not working ministering, or teaching.

Joy Emerine serves as the church’s Executive Administrative Assistant. She has served on the worship team, in kids ministry, and numerous other ministries. She obtained her Bachelor of Art’s Degree in Business Administration from King University.



Jeff & Misty Carter live in Bristol with their two sons where they faithfully serve their church and community.  Their family has been a part of Covenant Fellowship since November 2011.  Since joining the church in February 2013, Misty has served and continues serving with several ministries including Jesus’ Hands & Feet, Care Ministry, and Covenant Queens. She is currently the Director of Finance and serves as CDC church clerk.  Misty has been a member of Bible Study Fellowship for many years and currently serves as a BSF Group Leader in Gray, TN, and is a full-time employee of Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA).  Prior to coming to CFC in 2011, Jeff served as Men’s Fellowship Director and was a member for 5 years in Bible Study Fellowship, a rigorous and intensive men’s Bible study class that met in Kingsport, TN. 

Both Jeff and Misty believe serving the church is one of the greatest offerings we can give to the Lord and have faithfully served wherever the Lord has called them. Jeff currently serves on the church Deacon Board as Deacon of Safety, as well as the Safety and Security Director. Jeff’s full-time professional career in IT has enabled him to serve the church’s IT needs including networking, cabling, and managing the church servers.  As an accomplished drummer, Jeff finds great joy in honoring the Lord by using his musical talents in the church’s dynamic praise and worship team.  Jeff and Misty are the proud parents of two sons who share their dad’s love for music and have shown great musical potential and growth while serving in the youth’s praise team as well as participating in the adult worship teams.



Mark Karwowski and his wife Lisa started doing ministry in  2004. Over the next several years they were focused on kids, youth, discipleship, and worship ministries.  Mark and Lisa have three children that have been involved in ministry from a young age and are currently all serving in worship ministry. In 2012 Mark and Lisa were called into full-time ministry as lead pastors in Michigan and then moved to Virginia in 2017. Mark is also a Chief Engineer with ZF Automotive Group and a Ramsey Preferred Financial Coach. Lisa is a tutor for dyslexia. 

Mark and Lisa want to see people get connected with the body of Christ and to help people encounter God, grow in their faith, and serve.  They coordinate regular Meet the Pastor events typically over lunch and Growth Track where you can learn more about Covenant Fellowship Church as well as your own personality and gifts. Mark and Lisa love spending time with family, worshipping through music, and outdoor activities including hiking, bike riding, and kayaking.  They are also very passionate about health and natural medicine.



Pastors Paul & Lisa Moss have been a part of Covenant Fellowship since moving to Bristol from Dickenson County, VA in 2013. Paul and Lisa manage their business Alpha & Omega Repair Service, Inc. Paul is an EMT and a volunteer fire-fighter. Both Paul and Lisa have obtained their Echorter credentials through the Church of God School of Ministry. Paul serves as the Deacon of Transportation.

Paul enjoys the outdoors, hiking, hunting, and fishing. Lisa loves cooking, hiking, and camping. Paul and Lisa both love to spend time with their three grown children and their grandbaby!



Pastor Jessica Rice has served as the Children’s Pastor at Covenant Fellowship since 2015. She is pursuing her credentialing with the Church of God. She has the heart to teach and empower children to encounter God, love one another, and serve daily. Jessica and her husband D.J. Rice have 3 beautiful children, Jade, Jenalee, and Seth. Jessica enjoys reading, baking, and crafting. She also enjoys hiking and hanging out with her family.



Naomi Cox has been a part of The Church of God for most of her life and has served as a minister through this affiliation since 2019.   She and her husband JJ are on the road every week as full-time evangelists.  She is passionate about teaching The Word and ministering to women.  Naomi’s hobbies include anything where she can be creative like writing and mixed media Bible journaling. She also enjoys being outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and spending time at the beach with her family back in Richmond, Virginia.
